In Loving Memory of Horowai (Mother)
11 - Aug - 2013 to 19 - Dec - 2023
Much Loved Dog of Phillip & Cherie
We asked Horowai to produce a litter and what she gave us was a gift we could never repay, a litter that would change the course of our lives in ways we could never have imagined.
Horowai

[PLACEHOLDER - Warm affectionate photo of Horowai; optional second image as mother or with pups.]
Horowai was the girl who made the breeding story possible, but first and foremost she was a much-loved companion.
She had a softness to her nature that made her easy to feel deeply attached to. She would settle on the bed, rest her shoulder on mine during a movie, and make the whole room feel different simply by being there.
When the time came to breed her, she was not treated like a breeding bitch in the commercial sense. She was our girl, and that shaped every decision we made. The process asked a lot of her and a lot of us, but she met it with courage and strong maternal instinct.
She also transformed Atawhai. Their friendship brought something out in him that had not fully appeared before, and together they became one of the great joys of living with more than one Rottweiler.
Horowai’s legacy is not only in the litter she gave us, but in the memory of who she was in daily life - affectionate, loyal, steady, and deeply woven into the family.
That legacy also shows in the feedback we later received from one of her other male puppies, Nismo. Hearing what kind of dog he became was one of the clearest signs that her line carried forward the qualities we loved most.

A caring, loving, loyal girl, a brave courageous mother - to the end she showed a mother's love for every member of the family.
Horowai enjoyed playing with her babies, tennis balls and tug of war, she always played to win and challenge her ever growing baby boy. Horowai prided herself on taking care of her babies Mac and Kiara as they grew she was their babysitter, their protector, she kept track of them, trying to keep them out of trouble.

I see you laying in the backyard a beautiful majestic, regal Rottweiler girl, your strength, your presence, and your personality. You deserved better than that tumor, the pain your passing has coursed me lye's in the unconditional strength in love and caring your character has given an entire family, your best friend Atawhai, your son Mac, your girl Kiara, and your human Mum and Dad.
Horowai passed away peacefully in our arms on the 19 December 2023.
